Experience

My journey toward librarianship started as a student worker at Pensacola Christian College where I was assigned to work in the Rebekah Horton Library and quickly developed a love for assisting college students with research. Upon graduation, I became the Assistant Circulation Desk Coordinator at Rebekah Horton Library, where I was able to focus on Access Services and providing direct student assistance. After a year, I was promoted to Periodicals Coordinator, where I developed my skills in collection management and leadership, as I led a team of workers responsible for interlibrary loan, periodical literature, and digital resource acquisition.  In this position, I learned to work closely with Faculty in the assessment of resources and collections for college courses.

Upon completing my MLIS degree in 2023, I accepted a leadership role as Head of Collection Services at Rebekah Horton Library, where I oversaw the library’s access and research services. This role afforded me experience in library management with a primary focus in the development of an Information Literacy program encouraging sound scholarship among students at each degree level. I left Florida to join Anderson University’s Thrift Library as the Research and Instruction Librarian in September 2025, where I look forward to fostering a love for scholarship and sound research amid a rapidly advancing information landscape!

About Me

  • I grew up in the north-country, spending my childhood in New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut until I attended college in Florida. I’ve lived in the south ever since!
  • Unlike most librarians, I don’t particularly enjoy reading fiction. I much prefer reading nonfiction and poetry.
  • I’m an avid crafter and a “daily dabbler” practicing a variety of art and craft mediums including crochet, painting, scrapbooking, and many more. I can’t seem to choose just one to master, so I dabble in them all.
  • My husband, Benjamin, and I have three children: Joshua, Ruth, and Esther (and yes, Joshua judges Ruth).
